Description

Sooo.... They refused to let him participate in the Olympic Games in London this year.... they didn't even let him participate in the opening ceremony.... what if he's an undead-like apparent villain with a freaky expression and hairdo and a grin which could scare the Hell out of the kids? - does that make him anything less than those athletes?....
Eddie was very, very mad.

:giggle:

I loved my parents' reaction the first moment they saw this. My brother nearly fell from his chair, laughing. It really made my day.

So this was made for the Eddie in a set-up from the "Olympic games 2012 in London" Contest in :iconeddie-the-head-club:

So, months ago, back in March, I read the announcement of a contest themed after Eddie in the Olympic Games. There was plenty of time, its deadline was the end of the OG, so I said to myself: "I gotta participate in this!" And then I steadily forgot about it. I recalled there was such a thing about a couple of days AFTER the OG began, then spend a couple of days more in wondering: "Damn, do I really have time to make something?" And then in the last couple of days I finally collected myself to do it.
Actually not a bad outcome, notwithstanding my nefarious absence of mind and lack of seriousness - and considering the fact I've merely started drawing with color pencils and I'm veeeeery faaaaar from mastering them. Hope you like it though. The half-cartoonish style was intended.

Technical details.
Reference for the stadium - [link] The perspective was interesting and very wholesome to draw.
References for Eddie, of course, from a couple of albums (e.g. "Killers", "Fear of the Dark", "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg" single).

Mainly Faber-Castell color pencils + 2B - 8B, HB for details and outlines. A4.
What I really regret about it is that I didn't have the time to make it on larger paper, there'd be many more details.... -.-

That's it.
The rest is music and me thinking: "Now, THAT'S one sure way to set up a cosmic record in running." There are some contestants who run like their life really depends on this. Praise them, that's the way I believe it should be.

P.S. I'm NEVER AGAIN drawing full stadiums.... just dots dots dots dots, endless infinite colorful dots.... Pointillism is DEFINITELY not for me.
